Universal releasing Trolls World Tour at the Cinema and your Homes on the same day. Will other studios follow
Universal and Dreamworks have decided to take the decision to go ahead with the release of Trolls despite the current world climate. It will be released at any of the remaining open cinemas and on demand straight to your home this Friday 20th March. Price will be £19.99. This is a brave but necessary step in my opinion as no one knows how long the world will be on ‘lock down’. There has to be an alternative to simply pushing films back indefinitely. It will be a huge change/departure for the industry as Cinemas don’t like being cut out but these are strange times we are living through. I’m certain other Studios are keeping a close watch to see how this works out for Universal who are also bringing The Invisible Man and The Hunt which are currently at cinema straight to home release on Friday The film itself actually sounds like a lot of fun, especially for people of eclectic music tastes. Poppy, Branch and gang discover there are 6 other Tribes of Trolls all of which ‘follow’ different styles of Music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. The Villain Queen Barb voiced by Rachel Bloom wants to destroy all the other styles of music. Justin TImberlake and Anna Kendrick return with all the old cast as well as some new characters voiced by some very famous names including Ozzy Osborne, James Cordon, Mary J Blige, Gwen Stefani and Sam Rockwell.
