Presumed Innocent – Love, Sex and Obsession this June
Jake Gyllenhaal is fighting for the truth and his family in Presumed Innocent, an 8 part limited series hitting Apple TV this June
Presumed Innocent originally hit screens as a feature movie in the early 90s starring Harrison Ford before spawning a tv show spinoff. At the time I paid it little attention as my interests as a youth were more action, adventrue and sci fi. The film was a decent Box office success so they followed up with some not as successful spinoff tv shows.Â
Fastforward almost 30yrs and legendary Producer J.J. Abrams and famed writer David E Kelly have joined forces to bring this gripping tale of love, sex, obsession and murder to a new audience as an 8 episode limited series. If you have been following the streaming wars over the years, you’ll understand that Apple have chosen the path of quality over quantity, While they may not have the most content, what they do put out tends to vary between very good and brilliant and this looks like it should fit perfectly within their serivce.

Following a brutal murder of one of his colleagues, Chicago prosecutor Rusty Sabiach makes it his mission to hunt down the killer. But when he becomes a suspect himself, things begin to crumble around him. And as we delve deeper into the case, every revelation leaves us wondering just what the truth is.
With an A lister movie star like Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role of chief deputy prosecuter Rusty Sabich, Ruth Negga as his wife and a great supporting cast including Bill camp, O-T Fagbenie and Peter Sarsgaard, this is looking like it will keep us gripped to our screens every week as the story unfolds, secrets are revealed and Rustys world is turned upside down.
