A brand new trailer for Freaky starring Vince Vaughn
The ‘Freaky Friday’ body swap is a concept we have all become very familiar with over the years. The idea of two people swapping bodies, having to live the day in the others persons body has been used to great comedic effect in dozens of films. While some are occasionally painful to watch, a majority of them have proved to be very successful in the comedy genre. One of the most famous examples of this was in the 2003 film Freaky Friday starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan, where a mother and daughter swap places. This was based on the 1972 book of the same name by Mary Rogers which itself was considered a retelling of the 1882 novel Vice Versa by F.Anstey, even though that one did feature a father and son
The guys at Blumhouse Productions (who recently brought us the very enjoyable ‘Invisible Man‘ starring Elizabeth Moss) and the Director behind ‘Happy Death Day’ have decided to try and flip the concept on its head and combine the body swap idea with the scares of the Invisible man and the more comedic elements of Happy Death Day in an attempt to bring a High School horror film in the vein of the Scream Movies. Freaky stars Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn as the serial killer who is inadvertently body swapped with his potential victim. Let the laughs, kills and slaughter commence!
