Here are the Unmissable Movies hitting screens in January 2024

If you thought 2023 had some big movies, you haven’t seen anything yet! January
2024 is set to be a mega Blockbuster month for movies, with both franchises and original films.

Welcome to the January 2024 edition of Most Wanted, our monthly preview of the biggest and best movies we can’t wait to see

First up, We have LIFT on Netflix starring Kevin Hart. Now Netflix combined with Kevin Hart might not conjure up the best image, but this might be an exception. Director F Gary Grey is in the hot seat, he previously brought us Friday, Set it off, The Negotiator, straight Outta Compton and Fast and Furious 8. So he can work successfully across a range of genres, from comedy to drama to thriller and big over the top action add to that a decent cast and this could be the perfect way to Set off 2024!

Next up we have the Mean Girls reboot. Some people roll their eyes when a classic is being remade. But let’s be realistic, the original was in 2004, thats 20yrs ago, people its time! This is actually a film adaptation of the Broadway musical so yes there will be songs this time round. What is sometimes missing with Remakes is the involvement of the original creators but no such problem here.

Original writer Tina Fey has written this as well as producing with original producer Lorne Micheals. While some of the original teachers are returning, we are dealing with a new class and new characters. It’s an old school story with a brand new spin. Plus did I mention its got Tina Fey?

Next up we have the return of the UK’s greatest action star. Yes, I’m talking about Jason Statham in a brand-new Action thriller The Beekeeper.

Now let’s get things clear, this is not going to be an award-winning story with incredible acting and a deep routed message. This is a Statham movie, we’re talking about dead pan one liners, a simple story, tragedy, revenge and bone crunching martial arts Mayhem.

Nows here the Best of the Rest for January

On the 4th, modern horror masters Jason Blum and James Wan attempt to scare us away from the swimming pool in ‘Night Swim‘ Trailer here

On the 12th, LaKeith Stanfield stars in The Book of Clarence (Trailer), he plays a young man in biblical times who thinks he can get rich by pretending to be a another messiah like Jesus Christ

Also on the 12th on Prime Video, Kaley Cuoco plays a secret assassin carrying out deadly jobs without her husband David Oyelowo knowing her true job or identity in Role Play (Trailer)

On the 26th Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman star in Millers Girl, a story of a twisted teacher student relationship where accusations fly. Watch the Trailer here

And finally also on the 26th Snoop Dogg brings The UNDERDOGGS to prime video. He plays a badly behaved NFL star sentenced to community service, helping a hopeless kids american football team find success. Trailer here
