Joe Bell is a personal journey of self-discovery, redemption and a father/son bond that transcends even death
Joe Bell is the heartfelt true story of working-class Joe Bell (Mark Wahlberg) from a small town who embarks on a walk across the country to campaign against bullying after his son Jadin (Reid Miller) commits suicide due to bullying.
Jadin comes out to his father as gay and explains that he feels that is the reason for the bullying, but his father turns a blind eye, unaware of the amount of pain his son was in.
Apart from spreading awareness about the devastating effect of bullying, it also serves as a therapy for Joe, as his journey gives him a much deeper understanding of his son and the pressures/torment he faced.
