Meet the Killers of the New School! Jolt, The Protege, Gunpowder Milkshake & Kate are all out for justice as new generation assassins
The New Generation Assassins are coming. Black Widow has bowed out of the super spy game. and the consensus is that it’s a fantastic and fond farewell to Natasha Romanoff. But with Scarlett standing down, who are the New Generation Assassins stepping up to light up the big screen in the next few months
Karen Gillian stars in Gunpowder Milkshake as an assassin who must choose between staying on the mobs paid mission or going off track to protect an 8yr old girl, Chloe Coleman. She sides against mob boss Paul Giamatti and unites a sisterhood of assassins including Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, Carla Gugino and her long lost mother played by Lena Headey. This ones from the makers of John Wick so we have good reason to be excited.

Kate Beckinsale stars Jolt as a bouncer with serious anger management problems. To control her murderous temper, she has to regularly use electric shocks ‘Jolts’ of electricity which calm her need to kill. When the guy she falls for is suddenly murdered, she lets her dark side out and goes on a murderous revenge filled rampage. This one has a slightly humorous feel, a bit reminiscent of Jason Statham in ‘Crank’ but it doesn’t mean it won’t be fun. The cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Laverne Cox, Stanley Tucci and Jai Courtney. Official Trailer here.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as assassin Kate, who discovers she has been betrayed and poisoned, giving her only 24hrs left to live. She goes on a killing spree across Tokyo, reeking violent vengeance on those who poisoned her. Along the way, she befriends the young daughter of one of her past targets. Mary Elizabeth Winstead did a great job as a lovable but awkward killer in Birds of Prey playing the Huntress, so she has good form when it comes to murderous massacres. It also stars Woodly Harrelson, Michiel Huisman and Tadanobu

Our final tale of vengeance stars Maggie Q as The Protégé. Trained by master assassin Samuel L Jackson, she swears revenge when her teacher and father figure is murdered. She begins a killer cat and mouse game with bad guy Michael Keaton and very soon all hell breaks loose. This comes from the studio that brought us John Wick and the Director of Casino Royale so there is good experience in the assassin/spy genre. Any film that has Michale Keaton and Samuel L Jackson must be a good fun, right?
Which of these four are you most looking forward to/
