Will Jennifer Hudson find a little Respect in the Spotlight?

Respect Trailer – Jennifer Hudson takes on possibly the role of her career this year in Respect

Every time I thrash reality shows someone reminds me that the phenomenal talent that is Jennifer Hudson got her big shot on one. Most people take on biopics knowing they are Oscar magnets, but Jennifer is already an Oscar winner. We know she can act and she has one of the best voices of this generation so who better to bring soul legend Aretha Franklin to life on the big screen. I know little about Aretha’s life story and having watched the trailer I’m quite happy to wait and watch the drama unfold through fresh eyes.

The film also stars Forest Whitaker, Mary J Blige, Queen Latifah, Titus Burgess and Marlon Wayans (not often we see him playing it serious in a drama). It’s directed by Liesl Tommy who is better known as an award-winning stage Director, but she promises to bring unflinching grit and passion to this film. RESPECT hits Theatres this December
