5 of the Best Steven Spielberg Movies – Behind the Disclosure

What are Steven Spielberg’s best films?

Spielberg- few names in Hollywood command the level of love, respect and admiration that this filmmaker enjoys. But don’t think he hasn’t earned it. After debuting in the 1960s and breaking through with the made-for-television movie ‘Duel’ in 1971, he has been a consistent force in cinema for over six decades. He practically invented the idea of the ‘summer blockbuster’ with the release of Jaws in 1975 and went on to push the envelope for what audiences expect from a cinematic experience.

One thing that sets Steven Spielberg apart from my other favourites is his refusal to stay in ‘one lane’. There is no static visual style or dialogue that you will always find in his films. The only constant feels like a deep quality story with characters you really care about, set in amazing yet believable worlds. Looking back at his catalogue, you’ll be hard pressed to find a director who floats between genres with such ease. From amazing creatures to alien invasions to powerful, evocative retelling of important moments in history – Steven Spielberg does it all.

This June, the master returns to the genre he is possibly best known for, Sci-Fi, with the mysterious Disclosure Day. While not much is known about the plot, the trailer suggests an alien encounter and the revelation of massive secrets to mankind. This is sure to be a summer event only he can provide.
